Everyone is unique....different body types, ailments, and medical history...so your massage treatment should be unique too. I use a blend of techniques (Swedish, deep tissue, sports, myofascial, trigger-point, and passive stretching) to create a customized session for your specific needs that day.
Therapeutic massage has been proven to decrease pain and anxiety and can be an effective therapy for a variety of ailments such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, plantar fasciitis, headaches, chronic pain, stress, and depression. Regular massage can also be effective in relieving symptoms, and further onset of, repetitive stress injuries (RSI) such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
Oncology massage is Swedish relaxation massage that is modified for gentle pressure and comfortable positioning. This type of massage, when delivered by a trained therapist, is safe for any cancer patient at any stage of treatment. Massage has been proven to reduce pain and anxiety, and may also provide relief from the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation such as: nausea, insomnia, neuropothy, depression, muscle aches, and fatigue.
I am a Preferred Practitioner with the Society for Oncology Massage and have completed over 90 hours of training and hands-on practical work in cancer and hospital-based massage.
